In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Essex County Council (ECC) devised a series of initiatives to support our local communities and economy. The Ambitious Essex initiative looks beyond the post-pandemic recovery stage and focuses on supporting local businesses to thrive and create opportunities accessible to residents.
Under the Ambitious Essex brand, the ECC decided to put together the first ever Essex High Street Business Summit. This would be an opportunity for the local community to engage with high street partners around Essex and discuss how to future-proof our town centres. To make this new hybrid event a success, they needed strong branding and a clear marketing strategy, and Creative Quills helped deliver just that.
- Marketing campaign
- Media toolkits
- Social media content and assets
- Promotional video and video case studies
- Project coordination
- Digital PR
During our strategic sessions with the ECC team, we pinned down the event’s concept and USP, which gave us the building blocks for its branding. We delivered a new logo as well as a range of branded assets for use in social media, agendas, presentations, and signage.
To spread the word about the event and to get people excited about attending, we created all the content for the social media campaign. Everything we created was specifically targeted towards high street stakeholders, and shared on the channels where they spend their time. We distributed the press release to local news outlets.
Working closely with graphic designer Sean Brkovic and videographer Seb Marshall, we created a promotional video and inspirational business case studies. We ensured that tasks were completed on time across organisations.
The Essex High Street Business Summit was a huge success. Over 130 people attended the event in person and 53 streamed it live. Through our close collaboration with the Council and the other stakeholders (event organisers, designers, and printers, to name a few) we brought to life a truly inspirational and informative event. On the day, there were lively debates and inspirational stories from Essex and beyond. Attendants got a truly global perspective on the challenges facing our high streets. The ECC team were delighted with the outcome. The summit was a catalyst for action for future-proofing Essex’s high streets.
Since the success of the summit, our collaboration with Essex County Council has gone from strength to strength. We are now working on the Essex Plus reward scheme, which will bring the vision behind the High Street Summit to life.
“It was a pleasure working with you guys, thank you for bring our vision to reality.”
Kazadi Mwamba, Principal Economic Growth Officer at Essex County Council
